I built this database for my families farm. My farther used to track all his sales on paper as well as general record keeping. I wrote a database in MySQL, and wrote a web-base GUI in HTML/PHP served by Apache. Some people ask me why I choose this particular implementation, and not MS Access. I like PHP. I like open-source, and I like free. That's why. The machine it's running on is a P133, 32MB or ram, with Windows 98, and it manages fine.
I have since thought about re-writing it in JSP, as a good excise in JSP, if nothing else. I have also thought of writing a Java Swing Application so that it could be run as a stand alone application instead of being servered off a web-server. Who knows, it may happen yet
In any case I have placed the orginal PHP version here as a demo so that anyone who wishes can see it working. Note: you will need login details to access the demo, please contact me via email to receive a username/password.
While working for an ISP, I was a part of a team that developed webpages for the technical support site. They are basic click-paths to help customers solve problems without having to call technical support lines. I placed them here in case anyone would like to browse them. Enjoy.
Everyone loves Minesweeper! That simple little game that can waste so much time, and fry so many nerves.... Well now you can play it again! While reading a JavaScript book, I decided it would be fun to write a JS version. It's close enough I think. Enjoy.
